New Post: School
So, Tuesday was my first day of classes. And all though my professors are really nice, my classes this quarter are gonna be hard. I'm not sure if I will be able to learn much in my Political Science, seeing as I'm not very political. At this stage in my life, politics are the least of my worries and it just confuses me. So, I'm not sure about that class. I'm sure if I try, I can do it. Or have someone help me.
On the other hand, my Communication between Cultures class is completely opposite. I absolutely love it already, and although it won't be as easy as my other communication class, it will still be a blast to be in. I already recognize some people from my last class and people I worked out with, so there ARE people who would help if I needed. Which I hopefully won't need.
Then there is my English class. Approaches to Fiction, where we read classic novels like the adventures of Huck Fin. In my opinion, I really don't give a damn what adventures this classic american character went on. He's fictional and his adventures are boring. Reading Tom Sawyer was bad enough, why torchure me more with bad reading material? Plus, talking about the Allegory of the Cave with him was just so, deep? When I talked about that story with Mrs. Riggs in highschool, she interpretted it much better than he did. He had no idea how to communicate wtih people of our age, and his thoughts on the matter did not agree with my thoughts in the matter at all. So much chaos was running around in my head that I almost had to shake my head to try and get it out. So, appr. to fiction=bad idea. Talked to counselor and will now be dropping that class and maybe add a Biology class, or as my other friend just told me about, anthropology. Don't know which one yet. If I take Biology, I'm with Cindy and it'll be a rough course. If I take anthropology, it'll be a bit easier, and very interesting. I still don't know yet.
Then, last but not least, there is my art class. Where we drew a brick on the first day of class. And as Cindy's was a bit disproportionate, mine had angles that didn't line up. Although I had "a wonderful eye for detail" there are still things I need to improve on. But, the teacher is Japanese, which makes it so much better because you have to REALLY listen to what he is saying to know what he is saying. And alot of the things he says, are really funny. He is a good guy who can tell good jokes. But also, he can slightly kill you on the inside by saying something small as in "Your hair is empty on the inside". That little comment made Cindy die a little. But, its the truth! Your hair is a line that has width, but on the inside, it acts as an insilator, and warms your head. Yeah, learned that shit in Art 116 man. Intense, I know.
And of course, after a good class, I was ready to go home and get new tires on my dino car. But, like an idiot, I had left my lights on. You see, it was foggy earlier in the morning, and when I got out of the car it was sunny. So I completely forgot about the lights on. And ever since I got my new radio in my car, it doesn't warn me about things like that anymore. So yeah, Cindy and myself had to ask around to find out if anyone had any jumper cables. But no one did. It was very helpful. So, being a AAA gold card member, I called for help. 3 times. The first time, we didn't have good service, the 2nd time the girl was a bitch and didn't know how to google the address of Ohio University. So we gave up for a bit and went to eat some mac n cheez. Where we found out the address and talk about dropping my class. We finally called and the old geiser who answered decided to take his good ol' time, grunt, and breath deeply into the phone. It kinda scared me, but it was necessary to get my car fixed. He told me, "Sure, okay, someone SHOULD be there MAYBE around 1:40." Well, that's not good enough for me. But I had nothing else I could do, Cindy was in class and her dad couldn't come up. My mom decided it was more important to go to lunch with her friends. And my dad was at work in Dublin. So, I waited and waited for an hour, watching the time carefully because my car appt was at 2:30. Well, at around 1:50 AAA shows up. They tell me what is wrong with my car (OH EM GEE MY CAR BATTERY DIED. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!................) and said it would take approximately 25 minutes to repair. I'm not much of a car person, but I know it only takes a couple minutes to jump a car. But NO, that is not how they do it. I'm actually thankful because the guy even cleaned parts of the inside of my car. Which has many layers of dust and stuff on it for some reason, even though it is used constantly. And well, finally at around 2:30, Cindy gets out of class, and my car is finally ready to go. Finally.
The rest of the day was pretty good I would say. Up until I had to run around and get my keys, car, and park all before heading to Panera with Soontar then meeting up with the group and watching an Extremely Yummy Gerard Butler in a pretty good movie named Gamer. People said it was stupid, but I liked it. Very cool techonology, plus it had the main character from the showtime series Dexter as the bad guy. And ANOTHER plus, it had Gerard Butler. Did I mention Gerard Butler? Yeah. My favorite movie being a tie between Phantom of the Opera or P.S. I love you (and technically Pride and Prejudice as well, but that doesn't have Gerry.), I'm a pretty big Gerard Butler fan. So instantly, the movie was a plus.
On the way back, I listened to some pretty awesome music including songs from The Beatles, The Kinks, Flight of the Conchords, The Lonely Island, and my favorite, Muse. Listening to muse, I insta-slept. But finally arrived back to the studio with Soontar. We said our goodbyes and headed out. When I proceeded to head to my house to then be lectured about dropping my english class. "I knew if I let you take that Art class you were going to drop the english. I should have never let you do that."
Well, everyone knows that mother always knows best. Pfft. And for the record, I never planned on dropping the class. I was actually excited because English was one of my first options for a major. But I just really don't like the class at all.
So after a really fun night, I get yelled at about that. Then go upstairs and instead of sleeping, I write this blog. Because I felt the need to share with everyone on the internet how my life was going. Andddddddd now you know. Feel special.

Woah, bad AAA service? I usually have to end up using them once every 2-3 months and I've never had bad service, ever!
ReplyDeletePanera was the jams. I guess Gamer was pretty good. Either the action scenes were overdone or they were overdone enough to be a parody of action movies... hmmmmm. Either way, I wanna play Society.
ReplyDeleteLol brandonamp. I'm only allowed to use them like, twice a year. Or so my mother tells me.
ReplyDeleteand Sooontar. Panera is delicious, and society actually would be an awesome game to play. Its like sims. Only better. haha
